The laws applied in the Companies Registration Department

Laws Applied in the Companies Registration Department

  1. Companies Law No. 21 of 1997 (as amended): This law specializes in registering Iraqi companies from the beginning of their establishment until their liquidation and cancellation.

  2. Registration Agency Law No. 4 of 1999: Under this law, an agency license is granted to lawyers to register companies, patents, trademarks, trade names, and related matters.

  3. Public Companies Law No. 22 of 1997: A certificate of establishment for a public company is issued according to this law after providing the department with the required documents.

  4. Commercial Agency Regulation Law No. 79 of 2017: This law pertains to granting licenses to Iraqi agents for practicing commercial agency activities and registering commercial agencies for Arab and foreign companies and institutions.

  5. Regulation of Branches and Offices of Foreign Companies and Economic Institutions No. 2 of 2017: This regulation specializes in registering branches and offices of foreign companies operating in Iraq, from the date of granting a license to open the branch or office until their liquidation and cancellation.
